Harbour Master Sailing Challenge 2019 to 2023 (Ireland still to be written up)

Plymouth (Cattewater)

April 1, 2019
Harbour Master Number 5. Plymouth (Cattewater) HM Captain Tim Charlesworth. Tim has been HM for an amazing 22 years! His busy office were very welcoming to me, and knew Seafarers charity very well via their work and support of The Merchant Navy Welfare Board.

He said the most unique feature of his harbour was ..... not the 35 million car tanks worth of petroleum imported into his harbour each year.... but his two lovely office ladies Sandra (see photo) and Mary!
As for the most unusual part of his job description....it is to judge the British Fireworks Championships held in Plymouth each year. What a great job! Thank you Tim for your time and encouragement.

Also a shout out to Queen Anne's Battery marina staff who waived the fee for mooring with them and filling up our 400 litre water tank.... phew... we can use the shower again. It is not until water is limited, that you really appreciate it.

Tonight anchored in Cawsand Bay. My fellow sailor Toby has set up a bridle rope attached to the anchor chain under the water to keep our bow pointing into the swell for a more comfortable night. I am learning a lot of new sailing skills!
