Harbour Master Sailing Challenge 2019 to 2023 (Ireland still to be written up)

A huge thank you to all the staff at Ardfern Yacht Centre, just south of Oban, for looking after Good Dog from October 2019 to July 2020 - she was in very good hands. The marina is at the head of Loch Craignish and therefore very well protected.

Andrew and Joanna Ashton own this family business which unusually employs a full in-house team skilled in all the trades of boat building and maintenance - so you can get any repairs or improvements done to your boat, all under one roof so to speak! Fraser, pictured with the banner is the manager, and he has worked so hard over the lock-down ensuring the boats have been well cared for and all the owners kept well informed.

The workshop is run by Bob and James who have overseen a long list of improvements to Good Dog over the winter including new "standing rigging" (the wire bits!), repairs to the teak deck, new electrical bits inside, a longer anchor chain for the deep Scottish lochs, replacement LED navigation lights and most important of all a beautifully made teak step up into the forward bunk! The engine, generator and sails have all been serviced and she is polished up and ready to go.

Thank you also Andrew and Joanna for your very generous dontation to Seafarers UK. I plan to return Good Dog to Ardfern this winter after visiting as many Scottish Harbour Masters as I can. If you are looking for a perfect place to keep your boat on the west coast of Scotland - do contact @ardfernyachtcentre.
